Our mission is to provide a place for our guests and members to learn
about Linux, share their views and help each other. You'll be able to read up-to-date information about
computers, software, hardware and the people behind it. This site is maintained solely by volunteers and
not owned by any for-profit company. Please help us grow by posting new topics on our board
and if you like the site, by spreading the word around. If you have any suggestions about the site, please do let us know.
The PETs (Plain English Tutorials) are help files for such tasks as configuring X-Windows, securing
your Linux box, getting your sound card to work, and so on. The main difference between these and
technical manuals is that these are spelled out in plain English, (hence the name) without all the techno
mumbo jumbo. The Message board is another excellent source of help. There are many people there who
have been using Linux for quite some time, and are more than willing to help the newer crowd get up and
running.
